Started in 2001, the Dot NAME generic Top-Level Domain is the only one meant for personal websites only. These domains can include personal or fictitious names, aliases and/or other labels people are popular by. At first, only third-level registrations were permitted, so if you wished to order john.doe.name, you were required to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was loosened and 2nd-level registrations were also permitted. Already purchased 3rd-level domain names remained operational.

Through our firm, you can purchase your dot NAME domain for a time interval between one and ten years. You will have the opportunity to change the WHOIS information, to park your domain, to edit Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an already purchased domain to our firm if you acquire its EPP transfer authorization key from the current domain provider and we will renew it when the transfer has been done. There are no specific rules on who can acquire a .NAME domain name, but in order to keep the goal behind its creation alive, the Registry may verify who the owner is and if there is no connection between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration can be challenged.
